Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair a meeting of government and party spokespersons today (Nov 29). According to details, PM Imran will brief the spokesperson about the Supreme Court’s decision on General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s extension and government’s future policy on that.
The sources said that the current political and economic situation will also come under discussion. The meeting will be held at 5pm today. Yesterday, the Islamabad High Court had granted an extension in tenure for 6 months to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Bajwa.
A three-member SC bench headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, and comprising Justice Mazhar Alam and Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah had announced the reserved verdict. The court further instructed that the parliament should pass legislation on the matter within six months.
