The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday filed a reference against Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chairman Mustafa Kamal. The reference was filed in an accountability court against Kamal, the former Karachi mayor, and 10 more suspects for their alleged involvement in illegal allotment of state land. Other suspects named in the reference include Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Director General Iftikhar Qaimkhani, Fazlur Rehman, Mumtaz Haider, Muhammad Yaqoob, Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Rafiq, Nazeer Zardari and Muhammad Daud. In the reference, NAB stated that the suspects were involved in illegal allotment of the government plots and caused losses worth Rs 2.5 billion to the national exchequer. Earlier in June, NAB had filed another reference against Kamal for his alleged involvement in illegal allotment of around 5,500 square yards of commercial land to Bahria Town.
