Advisor to Chief Minister for Information, Law and Anti-corruption Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that all cases of corruption must be processed and sent to courts in 90 days, and the lapse of this period, the department will not be allowed to authorise any such case.
He said this in a meeting held with officers of the ACE at his office on Wednesday.
The advisor directed that if evidence against any accused had been gathered, the case should be presented in the anti-corruption court without any delay. Otherwise, after the lapse of 90 days, the case may be withdrawn.
He warned that negligence would not be tolerated and multiple checks and balances would be ensured at all levels to see visible changes. Furthermore, he said, “If any evidence is not found against any person in any case or any complaint is received about harassment of innocent people, the respective officer/ official will be taken to task as per law and rules.”.
Separately, Barrister Wahab continued interaction with different segments of the society through meetings with media organisations, media houses, while also visiting educational and health institutions to abreast the people about the government’s activities in the province. In this regard, the advisor to the CM interacted with visitors at his office, during which he said that the people of province of Sindh were the real strength of the government. He said that projects for the welfare and well being of the poor were the top priority of PPP government.
He maintained that fool proof security arrangements had been ensured for security during the 9th and 10th of Muharram, and said that deployment of the law enforcement agencies, including Police and Rangers, had been directed.
