The federal cabinet on Tuesday strongly condemned the attack on Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and prayed for his speedy recovery.
Chaired by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the cabinet meeting ratified the decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in its meeting held on April 27.
The meeting expressed satisfaction over the availability of sufficient sugar stock during Ramazan and noted that 4.35 MMT was available with monthly consumption of 0.433 MMT per month in the country.
The ECC also accorded ex-post facto approval to an amount of Rs 7.34 billion paid during the previous years to oil marketing companies against their price differential claims (PDCs) in order to provide relief to consumers through subsidizing imported petroleum products. These claims have been duly verified and audited, a PM’s Office statement said.
It approved renewal of an agreement for coordination in the field of education between the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination Government and the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic signed on March 8, 2005.
The cabinet also approved signing of MoUs on cooperation in agricultural research and development for the Belt and Road initiative among Ministry of National Food Security and Research, Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science and Centre for Agricultural and Bioscience International (CABI) Pakistan.
It also accorded approval to an agreement for transfer of offenders between Pakistan and Jordan.
Moreover, the meeting approved provision of credit line facility amounting to $14 million to Somalia related to provision of services by the NADRA.
