LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lifetime president Nawaz Sharif on Friday said that the public will take to streets if general elections 2018 are delayed.
Speaking at a party conference in Lahore, Nawaz criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan saying that tehreek-e-insaf has done nothing for the development of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa despite Khan’s “naya Pakistan” claims.
“If Imran Khan had ensured development in KP, scores of people would not have gathered at our rallies in Peshawar, Swat and Mardan,” Nawaz added.
Continuing his tirade against political rivals Imran, PPP’s Asif Ali Zardari and PAT’s Tahirul Qadri, the former PM said that Imran had termed Zardari the “biggest disease” but during Tahirul Qadri’s Lahore “drama show”, all three were on the same platform.
“I know Imran came 2 hours after Zardari had left, but they addressed from the very same spot,” Nawaz added.
Turning his attention towards Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, Nawaz said that “a person who is not known by his neighbours has been appoint the Senate Chairman.”
