LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday said that PML-N lifetime head Nawaz Sharif keeps on “sending messages” but he would not even go to heaven with the former PM.
“Nawaz betrayed PPP and turned into a Mughal-e-Azam after appointment as PM. Now, he keeps on sending us messages, but I would not even go to heaven with him,” Zardari said while speaking to a party conference in Lahore.
Continuing his criticism of the former PM, Zardari said that Nawaz is cleaning up the Adiala jail, but “he does not know if he would be imprisoned in Karachi’s Landhi jail or some other.”
“Nawaz Sharif flees the country after his tenure, but we stay here and correct whatever wrong he and his party has done to the country,” he continued.
The PPP chief said that the party, via Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, was the first to establish a Constitution and that it was PPP which engineered the 18th amendment.
Moreover, he added, that the PPP made former president Pervaiz Musharraf step down via dialogue and that “nobody was able to understand how we did it.”
