LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said that the purpose of some people in life is to accumulate wealth and that there is no difference between “such people and animals.”
Speaking to the media after welcoming PML-Quaid leaders Dr Azeemuddin Lakhnavi and Lf Col (retd) Muhammad Hashim Dogar to PTI, Imran said: “there are two roads in a person’s life. One leads to happiness, while the other leads to destruction. If my mother had not suffered from cancer, I would never have understood the plight of people and might have chosen the destructive path.”
The PTI chief added that it was due to his mother’s ailment that he realised the plight of cancer patients across Pakistan. “When my mother was suffering from cancer, I realised the pain and suffering of the underprivileged and that day I decided, I would construct a cancer hospital that would not only serve the poor, but the rich too,” Imran said.
He continued that “all Prophets have taught us one thing which is that we all have a purpose in life” and that his purpose is to serve the community and guarantee welfare of the general public.
Imran also said that he would make a major announcement on Sunday, while he also welcomed the PTI newcomers to the party.
