A delegation of journalists led by editor of a Sindhi newspaper, Naimat Khuhro, called on the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Larkana Range, Irfan Baloch, and apprised him of the brutal murder on May 26 of his reporter Zulfiqar Ali Mandrani in Dodapur. The delegation included Asad Bughio, Yasin Mashori, Safdar Sindhi, brother of the deceased Muhammad Saleh Mandrani, Muhammad Hanif Mandrani and Akhtiar Ali Mandrani.
Khuhro handed over news clipping evidence to the DIGP uploaded by the deceased journalist on his social media account against drug dealers and other social evils. The delegation had detailed talks about the killing and case investigations by the police. DIGP Irfan Baloch assured them of justice to the bereaved family and stern action against negligent attitude of police officers.
DIGP on the other hand has suspended Dodapur SHO Ahmed Nawaz Tunio and directed him to report to the police lines. It has also been decided to remove DSP Garhi Khero Sharafuddin Soomro. Irfan Baloch further said that he has already talked to AIG Sukkur Kamran Ahmed and DSP Soomro will soon also be removed from the post. He said an investigation board has been constituted headed by SP headquarter Muhammad Kaleem Malik to probe the murder thoroughly which include other SHOs Sartaj Jagirani, Barkat Korai and Agha Asad Pathan as members. He said investigation will be carried out honestly and accused will also be taken to task.
