Leadership of different religions and religious sects, while condemning the incident of desecration of Quran in Norway, has demanded for effective legislation at world level to ensure sanctity and honour of heavenly religions and respective holy places.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday at the Lahore Press Club, the leadership of different religions and religious sects stated that elements having extremist mind-set are not representative of any religion. They also demanded of the government and leadership of European Union UNO and OIC to take action on elements making propaganda against Muslims on pretext of Islamophobia. Ulemas and religious scholars also lauded the Muslim youth who obstructed the extremist making desecration of Holy Quran in Norway.
Addressing the Joint Press Conference Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi flanked by representatives of different religious schools of thought including Maulana Asadullah Farooq, Prof. Ataur Rehman Ludhyanvi,
Allama Ziaullah Shah Bukhari, Maulana Mufti Muhammad Ali Naqshbandi, Maulana Shafi Qasmi, Pastor Amanuel Khokhar, Pastor. Shahid Mehraj, Dr. Azad Martial, Father James, Pastor Saleem, Sardar Bishan Singh, Maulana Ghulam Mustafa Haidri and others vehemently denounced blasphemous incident in Norway.
The leadership of different religious schools of thought condemned desecration of Quran incident in Norway. They also demanded of world leadership and leadership of EU, UNO and OIC to constitute effective legislation to ensure sanctity and honour of heavenly religions and respective holy places. They also urged on world leadership to take effective steps to promote interfaith harmony adding that ‘Freedom of Expression’ does not mean to desecrate holy places of other religions. Islam is a religion of peace and harmony. Teachings of Islam and Quran-o-Sunnah advocates for annihilation of extremism and terrorism, said clerics and religious scholars. They also demanded of world community to expose elements making propaganda against Islam and Muslims on account of Islamophobia.
The leadership also lauded impromptu stance of DG ISPR and Foreign Office of Pakistan for inviting convoy of Norway to register Pakistan’s protest against the blasphemous incident in Norway.
Responding to a query, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi stated that Pakistan aims unity of Muslim Ummah adding that burning issues of Muslim world including Kashmir and Palestine could be settled with unity and stability of Muslim Ummah. Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi also lauded brotherly relations of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia adding that Chief of Army staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Prime Minister Imran khan playing very responsible role to get unite the Muslim Ummah and to bridge the differences of Arab world with Iran and Turkey.
The conference also condemned brutal lockdown of Kashmir, which has been continued since last 108 days and people of Kashmir facing severe human crisis.
Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi also underlined that peace and stability in the world could be ensure with peace and settlement of Kashmir and Palestine issues adding that religious minorities in India facing worst human rights crisis in India. Babri Masjid verdict has exposed mindset of Indian government. Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council and President Wafaq-ul-Masajid Madaris-e-Pakistan also announced that a meeting of different religious schools of thought will be held on Monday, 25th November in Islamabad and an important press conference will also be made after this meeting at National Press Club.
