Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Senator Sirajul Haq on Monday presided over the JI AJK & GB General Counsel and expressed regret over the silence of the government on Kashmir issue.
He announced to bring thousands of people to the federal capital on December 22 to show solidarity with the people of Indian-held Kashmir (IHK). He said the prime minister and his team had betrayed the people of Pakistan and Kashmir, completely ignoring the Two-Nation Theory and real objective behind the creation of Pakistan. The weak stand of the rulers on Indian decision to abrogate the special autonomy of IHK allowed New Delhi to wipe out the state from world map and expedite its expansionist designs. Sirajul Haq warned the government that India wanted to turn Pakistan into a barren land. Muzaffarabad and Islamabad could be the next targets of New Delhi if brave steps were not taken against Modi government, he warned. He said Imran Khan claimed to be the follower of Tipu Sultan but he never acted like the King of Mysore in 14 months of his premiership.
The JI chief regretted that the government had chosen Iqbal Day for the opening of Kartarpur Corridor. Indian top court, he added, on the same day announced verdict on Babri Masjid, allowing the Hindu extremists to build Ram Mandir on the ruins of the historic mosque. But, he regretted, rulers rushed to extend good wishes to India, completing putting on the back burner the ideology of Allama Iqbal. “The prime minister took an apologetic stand on Kashmir during his speech at Kartarpur. He [PM Imran Khan] did not utter a single word in condemnation of Indian court decision.” He said the west was hatching conspiracies against Muslims while majority of the rulers of Islamic states were acting as their puppets. The quietness of Muslim rulers on the bloodshed of Muslims in Kashmir and Palestine was evident of the fact that they were least interested in resolving the long standing disputes. Senator Siraj said the government was hitting hard the poor and middle class through inflation and unemployment. He said thousands of people lost their jobs during last one year. He said the ruling party made every decision in wrong direction and against its own claims which they made during the election campaign. Later, the JI chief addressed a seminar on occasion of golden jubilee of National Labour Federation and called for bringing reforms in labour sector. He said the working class was deprived of from every basic right since the birth of the country. He declared feudal and industrialists elite ruling over Pakistan for seven decades as the real cause behind the country’s problems. JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim said the Modi government was bent upon converting every non-Hindu to Hindu in India and the treatment of Hidutva goons with the minorities had put the peace in the region at greater risk.
