A man and his wife were diagnosed with HIV on Tuesday. The woman, who was coming daily at Rural Health Centre complaining about constant fever, was advised several tests but all were negative and finally duty doctor suggested her to get herself tested for HIV. When her blood was screened, she was found HIV positive. Her spouse and child were also screened as per international protocols and fortunately kid was negative, but her husband was also tested positive. They were referred to Taluka Headquarter Hospital in Ratodero for further treatment. In this way, HIV positive cases continue to emerge in taluka Ratodero without any brake where UNICEF has already established Treatment, Care & Support Center with the assistance of provincial government after massive outbreak of this viral disease which has infected so many men, women and children. The affected people had been constantly demanding establishment of all required diagnostic and treatment facilities under one roof along with availability of specialist cadre doctors of co-infections so that they should not run from pillar to post i-e Ratodero to Larkana for tests and senior doctors’ advice.
