As many as 29 more dengue fever cases emerged in Karachi in a week, taking the number of reported cases to 521 since January 1, 2019. According to the weekly report issued by the Prevention and Control Programme for Dengue in Sindh, at least 30 new dengue fever cases were detected across Sindh in a week, of which 29 were reported in Karachi alone. In May, a total of 148 dengue positive cases emerged across the province, of which 139 were from Karachi. A total of 550 dengue cases have surfaced in Sindh so far, of which 521 were from Karachi and 29 from other districts. Two deaths were also reported in Karachi city due to dengue fever this year.
