Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, on Friday, reminded the opposition that it was equally responsible alongside government for smoothly running the parliamentary affairs. According to Radio Pakistan, the PM’s assistant urged the concerned parties to use the parliament as a forum to resolve people’s issues and make legislation instead of treating it as a political battlefield. The opposition benches held the right to criticise government policies but they should also praise the good work of government, she added. Dr Awan believed the incumbent government was ready to hold elections in newly-merged areas of FATA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
