PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has revealed what he is looking for in a life partner in a wide-ranging, candid interview.
“There has to be a level of connectivity. We have to get along. She would have to be intelligent and educated. Perhaps a sense of humour,” Bilawal answered.
“And most importantly, [she would] have to get on with my sisters,” the opposition leader added.
When asked about his witty side in parliament, Bilawal replied: “Politicians have to communicate, and we have to deploy different tools to communicate and I believe comedy and sarcasm can sometimes be an effective tool, but it can also get you into trouble.”
The young politician even offered keen watchers an insight into his personal habits. When asked what Netflix shows he has been watching, Bilawal said that he hasn’t had time to watch much on Netflix recently, although he did say he had recently watched the landmark BBC series Planet Earth 2.
He was even asked how often he would go for a haircut, to which the politician replied that he was not big on dressing and grooming.
The interview turned to more familiar political territory when he was asked for his thoughts on Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“I am still looking for something to like about him,” the PPP leader admitted.
Talking about his late mother, Bilawal said he tries to follow her advice about staying dignified. “My mother gave me a lot of advice, but there is one thing that I sort of try to follow and that is that we should never react in anger, and always count to ten before reacting,” he said.
When asked about his and his siblings’ relationships with their late mother, Bilawal said: “My mother was very careful to insist that we were all were equally her favourite. I felt there is a special relationship between a mother and a son.”
“When I got into Oxford my mother was the happiest I have seen her,” he added.
To a question on the state of the PPP, Bilawal stressed that his party was “very much politically current.”
