China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, on Monday, cautioned that a confrontation between Pakistan and Indian would gravely impact regional peace. He said this during a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who briefed his Chinese counterpart on the fast-escalating regional situation in the wake of the terror attack on February 14 in Pulwama in Indian-Occupied Kashmir. The foreign minister appreciated China for its steadfast support while highlighting Pakistan’s desire for peace and regional stability. He went on to iterate Pakistan’s willingness to resolve all issues with India through dialogue and negotiation.
Wang, in turn, thanked Qureshi for calling and appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to address the regional situation. He also agreed that the regional situation was quite serious and, if not addressed on an immediate basis, could have serious implications for peace and security of the entire region. agencies
