A local leader of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) was shot dead on Monday, according to police and the political party. The incident occurred near Sakhi Hassan roundabout when unidentified armed men opened fire on a vehicle, rescue members said, killing a man. Police said the deceased was identified as Abdul Habib, who was also a member of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce. A spokesperson for PSP said the deceased was the party candidate from Sindh Assembly constituency PS-122, adding that the party was gathering further information regarding the incident. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and sought a report from the additional Inspector General (IG). Sindh CM Murad Shah directed officials for immediate arrest of perpetrators. Sindh IG Kaleem Imam also took notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the Central senior superintendent of police.
