ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry on Monday said that the conduct of the general elections on time is a constitutional requirement and PTI will not accept delay in the polls in any circumstances.
During a press conference, he condemned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Qauid Nawaz Sharif’s recent statements reportedly “indicating a possibility of election boycott”.
Fawad alleged the PML-N wants to make the elections “controversial” .
PTI leader Asad Umar, during a media talk today, has also showed concerns that the PML-N can announce ‘boycott’ a week before polls. “It seems Nawaz Sharif will call for boycott a week before polls,” said Umar.
However, PML-N leaders including Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Aurangzeb and Ahsan Iqbal have dispelled the news about the party boycotting the elections.
PMLN will never boycott elections. The sentiment and support of people of Pakistan is behind PMLN. On 25 July PMLN shall emerge victorious IA as people acknowledge PMLN govt successfully tackled Loadshedding and terrorism menaces, two biggest challenges in 2013.
