A four-party meeting held Friday under the chairmanship of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) president and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain exchanged views regarding the upcoming general elections.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MEM) Deputy Information Secretary Nasir Abbas Sheerazi and other leaders participated in the meeting.
The meeting decided to boost the mass contact campaign in all the provinces to bring patriotic forces to one platform.
Speaking on the occasion, the PML-Q top leadership, including Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that would-be caretaker premier and chief ministers should be neutral personalities. They said that it was a responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ensure free and fair elections in the country. They added that only free and fair elections could pull country out of the prevailing crises.
Khurrum Nawaz Gandapur briefed the meeting about the headway in Model Town case. The meeting paid tribute to the judiciary for its role in redressing grievances of the general public.
The meeting was held at the residence of the PML-Q leadership.
