ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister (PM) office on Friday elucidated that no notification had been received from the Supreme Court (SC), summoning the PM to appear before the court in personal capacity.
The office issued a statement, stating that the PM has the utmost respect for the judiciary and believes in rule of law.
Moreover, PM office spokesperson said that if any summon from the SC will be received, the PM will surely appear before the court.
Earlier on Thursday, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) had summoned the chief executive officers (CEO) of all Pakistan airlines to appear at SC’s Karachi Registry on May 12, in a suo moto notice case of fake degrees of pilots.
During a hearing of the suo moto notice case, Civil Aviation director had informed the court that PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi owned Air Blue airlines. Thus the CJP had summoned PM Abbasi in personal capacity to appear before the court on May 12.
