KARACHI: Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly Shehla Raza said on Monday night that members of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) did not know the workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were armed.
In a telephonic interview with a private channel she said, “I can assure everyone that I was there at the scene when this confrontation took place.”
PPP leader Shahla Raza further said that the PTI should have submitted a request if they wanted to organize a rally in the Hakeem Saeed Ground.
She also added that the PPP had even asked the deputy commissioner if any other party had requested to organize a rally in this ground or not.
We were assured after checking the records that nobody had requested the ground, she said.
While speaking to the media, Shahla also said that the rally will be held on Tuesday, the 12th of May.
“We will be showing solidarity with the martyrs of May 12,” she noted.
Moreover, Raza said the PTI should understand the meaning of their party name insaf (justice).
“The PTI workers often make U-turns after making announcements,” she commented.
