LAHORE: Veteran all-rounder Abdul Razzaq will make his come back to first-class cricket as he is set to lead PTV eleven in domestic season later this year, it was announced on Sunday.
The 38-year-old played his last first-class match in 2014, when he captained ZTBL, who were relegated to Grade 2. The all-rounder is all set to make his return after a 4-year sabbatical.
Speaking to the media, Razzaq said that he is looking forward to captain PTV in the coming season, while he said he is fit and scored 94-runs during a recent fixture in Peshawar.
The all-rounder added that he wishes to find a place in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and for that reason, he is up and ready to perform in the domestic season.
Razzaq, who served as the bowling coach of the Quetta Gladiators in PSL 3, said he had already discussed his return with the Gladiators’ management and that he would love to serve the team as a player too.
He, however, rejected the idea of making his return to international cricket saying that “now, the young players deserve a chance.”
Razzaq has represented Pakistan in 46 Test matches, 265 ODIs and 32 T20 Internationals.
