LAHORE: The Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Fawad Hasan Fawad appeared before the National Accountability Court (NAB) today in a case pertaining to the Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing Society scam.
Fawad is accused of having misused his authority when he was posted in Punjab, and has been summoned twice before by NAB in the same case.
NAB questioned Fawad for nearly an hour and also gave him a questionnaire during the hearing.
The case itself pertains to the fact that the construction company Chaudhry Latif and Sons had initially won the contract, but Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his subordinates later awarded the contract to Lahore Casa Developers.
Casa is a subsidiary of Paragon City (Pvt) Limited—a company said to be owned by Railways Minister Saad Rafique.
Principal Secretary Fawad is accused of levelling charges of wrongdoing against Chaudhry Latif and Sons so the contract could be awarded to Casa Developers.
