ISLAMABAD: Captain (r) Safdar, son-in-law of former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, on Monday condemned the act of firing at Justice Ijazul Ahsan’s residence terming it a despicable ploy.
Addressing the media outside the accountability court, Safdar said that court and judges were State’s responsibility. He added that politicians and judges were one family as politicians made laws and judiciary enforced them.
Safdar said that the constitution was sacred for any country and Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz (PML-N) was a staunch proponent of protecting both politicians and the judges.
Captain (r) Safdar appeared before the accountability court for the Avenfield properties case proceedings which are underway.
Earlier on Sunday shots were fired at Justice Ijazul Ahsan’s residence with no reported causalities. The police registered a case against unidentified people charged under provisions of terrorism and attempt to murder at Model Town Police Station. A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was formed by Punjab government to probe into the matter.
