At least five civilians, including three women, were injured when the Indian security forces resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday.
“Indian Army initiated unprovoked fire along LoC in Khuiratta sector targeting innocent civilians. Five citizens including three women got injured,” said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The Pakistan Army retaliated effectively and targeted the Indian post that initiated the firing, it added.
The incident took place the same day when the Indian occupying forces martyred at least seven civilians in the Held Kashmir.
Hundreds of civilians marched on a village in Kulgam district, chanting anti-India slogans and throwing stones at government forces who responded with live rounds, pellets and tear gas.
