GHOTKI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday said that other political parties aim to serve the rich, while PPP works for the welfare of the poor.
“The main aim of PPP’s politics is to counter the problems of the poor. We do politics of roti, kapra and makan, whereas other political parties work to discharge debts of the rich,” Bilawal said while speaking to a ceremony in Ghotki.
Bilawal added that PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto “took land from the feudals and landlords and gave it to the poor.” “PPP will continue to follow the policy of Z.A. Bhutto and serve the poor,” he added.
He continued that the party introduced Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) to empower underprivileged women, while PPP-led Sindh government is running a successful scheme to end poverty. “On the other hand, our rivals are serving the rich and now are handing PIA and PSM to them,” Bilawal added.
Taking jibes at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Bilawal said that he did not consider the PTI chief as a political personality. “He says one thing in the morning, while a different thing in the evening,” Bilawal said.
