LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has on Thursday expressed gratitude over the ‘warmth and friendship’ that he received in Lahore. He said that the hospitality shown to him during the visit will remain with him forever.
In a video message on Twitter, the mayor of Pakistani descent told that he had a good meeting today with Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif, the mayor of Lahore and other ministers. He also met a business delegation in Lahore today and discussed with them the prospects of making it easier for them to do business with London.
He said that he had a great time taking questions from the Lahoris in the afternoon and also meeting the cultural leaders from across Pakistan, including singers, dancers, poets and others.

Sadiq Khan was then off to Islamabad where he is scheduled to meet the high ranking federal government officials. He met the business leaders in Islamabad ‘to discuss how together we can promote London and Pakistan’s links in trade, investment, education, tourism and culture’.
Sadiq Khan is on Pakistan visit these days where he has spent a very busy day, meeting the chief minister of Punjab yesterday and then attending cultural shows and meeting delegations from different walks of life.
He had come to Pakistan on Wednesday, crossing the India-Pakistan border at Wagha, describing himself as a ‘pioneer’, according to Simon Harris of ITV London, being the first politician from Britain to cross the iconic border.
In what could be a historic move, Sadiq Khan on December 6, visited Amritsar where he went to Jallianwala Bagh and called on the British government to announce “a full and formal apology” to the people of Amrtisar and India for the 1919 massacre.
“It is shameful that, almost 100 years later, this has not yet happened”, he tweeted.
