ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday said that disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif didn’t understand what ideology meant and that changing stance now and then can’t be called ‘vision’.
Talking to media, the PPP chief suggested Nawaz Sharif not to align his personal matters with his politics, while accusing him of being part of every conspiracy over the years, which, according to him, was against the spirit of democracy. Bilawal said that the PPP always stood by democracy in the country and believes in political harmony for the sake of democracy and the country. He alleged that Nawaz Sharif had been catering to his personal interests throughout his political career, adding that he was still doing the same.
The PPP chief held supremacy of law crucial for any strengthened democracy in the world. He opined that the ousted prime minister and president of the ruling PML-N must not resort to politics of statements and instead work for the supremacy of law. Earlier in the day, former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari refused to hold a meeting with Nawaz Sharif, according to Senator Farhatullah Babar. Zardari remarked that Nawaz Sharif was responsible for the current political situation in the country.
He believed that the disqualified premier talks about the charter of democracy only when he finds himself in trouble.
