ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member and MNA Ayesha Gulalai on Wednesday criticised Imran Khan for not speaking out against the assault on Dera Ismail Khan girl, who was forced to parade naked in the streets of a village.
During a press conference in Islamabad, she unleashed a verbal onslaught against Khan, saying: “Imran Khan talks about justice but has not given any statement about the grisly incident even after the passage of 19 days.”
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Nighat Orakzai had earlier accused Ali Amin Gandapur of supporting criminals responsible for this heinous act. Orakzai also vowed to stage a sit-in protest outside residence of Gandapur until the victim is given justice.
Gulalai accused Ali Amin Gundapur of taking bribe and being associated to a drug group. “Everyone is afraid of Ali Amin Gundapur. Dera Ismail Khan District Deputy Commissioner acts upon his orders,” she maintained.
“Sajawal, the prime suspect involved in the incident, has not been arrested by police even after more than two weeks of the incident.”
Meanwhile, PTI MNA Dawar Khan Kundi said, “He stands firm on his stance that PTI leader and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is backing culprits.”
However, PTI MNA Gandapur had denied the allegations levelled against him and claimed innocence.
