LAHORE: Indian Minister of Internal Affairs Sushma Swaraj tweeted on Sunday that India was granting visa to a Pakistani child with a heart ailment for medical treatment in India.
Touqeer Ali, a Pakistani based in Dubai wrote to Sushma Swaraj on Twitter that his child has Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Arteries (CCTGA) and the treatment of which was only available in India. He said that he had applied for the visa on September 18 and was waiting for the visa.
@SushmaSwaraj Ma’m our Son has CCTGA which is very rare in nature n needs open heart surgery. There’s no such surgery done in pak ever, hardly a case in UAE but India is specialist in it. We’re really in need of help of India.

Following his tweet, the Twitter community stepped in to support him. As a result, Sushma Swaraj replied that she had asked the Consulate General of India in Dubai to grant them visa in order for the child to get medical treatment in India.
