ISLAMABAD – PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry on Monday claimed that the case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen is all but over
Chaudhry speaking outside the Supreme Court said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Hanif Abbasi’s counsel Akram Sheikh attempted to provoke the judges today but they did not react and showed restraint.
“Sheikh has now asked for two more days to respond,” said Chaudhry, adding that it is a delaying tactic on the part of the PML-N as the case is now over.
He also claimed that Abbasi can be arrested for submitting a false affidavit in court.
In reply to this question, the PTI spokesperson said Imran is not afraid of disqualification.
On the other hand, Hanif Abbasi speaking to the media from the same podium said Imran and Tareen keep changing their stance in the case.
He scrutinised the practice of presenting documents despite the case’s proceedings.
“We are asking for accountability of money stolen from charity,” he further said.
Following Abbasi, the Privatisation Minister Daniyal Aziz also said, “Imran knows he is a thief.”
He added that Tahirul Qadri raised the “save the state not politics” slogan and since then the government has not been allowed to performing to its full extent.
