ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz wants to only give the current accountability process a political shade says Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday.
Qureshi said in a statement that it is not appropriate for the former prime minister’s family from trying to gain sympathy, instead they must defend themselves and prove their innocence in the corruption cases.
On the other hand, PTI chairman’s spokesperson, Naeemul Haque, said Maryam Nawaz’s criticism of the ongoing situation is akin to be critical of her own self.
‘Sharif themselves have eradicated rule of law from this country’ he said.
Earlier on Monday (today), the accountability court heard the corruption cases against Maryam and her husband MNA Capt (retd) Safdar as they were notified to appear at the court.
Judge Mohammad Bashir also delivered his decision and approved the
National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) plea to declare Hassan and Hussain Nawaz as ‘proclaimed offenders’ and an ‘absconder ‘in reference to the three corruption references against them.
The court announced a date of October 13th as the next date of hearing at which Nawaz Sharif is required to be present, even if his children – Maryam, Hassan and Hussain are not.
The accountability is hearing a total of three corruption cases against the Sharif family, which were filed by the NAB in accordance with the judgment passed in light of Supreme Court’s case against the Panama papers case.
