KARACHI: Iran, Afghanistan and India must restore their good relations with Pakistan for mutual benefit, said Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair.
Addressing the participants of 14th anniversary of Karachi Council on Foreign Relations at Deewan House, Sindh governor observed that good relations with neighboring countries were crucial for the promotion of bilateral trade to strength regional economy.
The event was organized by Karachi Council on Foreign Relations. Tariq Fatemi, former Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs to the Prime Minister, Arshad Wohra, Deputy Mayor of Karachi, Leader of opposition in Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izharul Hasan, Chilean Ambassador Jean Paul Traud, Canadian High Commissioner, Peter Calderwood, members of the diplomatic corps and consular corps of Karachi and many dignitaries and government officials attended the event.
Zubair also highlighted importance of economic relations with neighboring countries and pointed out flaws in the foreign policy of the Pakistan specifically when it comes to neighboring countries. He insisted to have better relations with India specifically.
Khawaja Izharul Hasan stressed the need to promote positive image of Karachi in front of international community.
Arshad Wohra called for managing better relations with other countries particularly neighbours.
The Chilean Ambassador Traud and Canadian High Commissioner Calderwood highlighted the efforts of KCFR for bridging the gap between diplomats and government officials of Pakistan.
Chairman of KCFR Admiral (r) Shahid Karimullah, Tariq Fatemi and Ahsan Mukhtar Zubairi, founding member and General-Secretary of the Karachi Council on Foreign Relations also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the efforts of the KCFR.
