ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb Saturday vehemently quashed speculations that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in its consultative meeting had considered some alternative names for the premiership in the wake of would-be disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Panama Papers case.
“Those speculating in this regard would be proven wrong,” a statement quoted the minister as saying. She categorically said that no alternatives names were ever discussed at the party’s meeting. The minister said that there was neither any case against the prime minister nor there was any incriminating evidence against him.
She said that the PML-N and the people of Pakistan would continue to render their unwavering support to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. She went on to say that Pakistan would continue making strides towards prosperity under the dynamic and courageous leadership of Nawaz Sharif. She said Imran Khan had failed to provide his money trail and confessed himself that he had no record or receipts of his salary he received from foreign counties. The minister said that the prime minister despite enjoying constitutional immunity had made history by presenting himself for accountability.
