LAHORE: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rai Ijaz Ahmad has announced commendation certificates for traffic wardens who saved the life of a suicidal girl and handed her over to
her parents.
The traffic wardens deserve appreciation for failing the suicide attempt of the girl, he said, adding that traffic wardens were not only providing best transport facilities to commuters but were serving the humanity as well. He gave martyred Captain (r) Syed Ahmad Mobin credit for recruiting best workforce in the City Traffic Police (CTP).
According to details, 16-year-old Saira, a resident of Haripur, Wednesday hurtled into traffic to be hit by a vehicle in an apparent suicide attempt.
Meanwhile, on duty traffic wardens – Zaman and Usman – endangered their lives and failed the suicide attempt of the girl. After being rescued, Saira told the traffic wardens that she was upset over some domestic issue.
Later, the traffic wardens handed over the girl to area police.
