KARACHI: Police detain Karachi lion and his owner Saqlain alias Sherwala on late Wednesday, after receiving public complains.
Citizens of Karachi made videos of a huge lion being driven around the streets in a Toyota Vigo. The videos went viral and public lodged a complaint regarding security concerns.
Sohail Anwar Siyal, Home Minister of Sindh, took notice of the incident of which the authorities took into custody the owner and his pet lion.
“I have all documents, including the licence. The video is four days old. My lion was sick and I took him to the doctor for a visit in Defence, and was returning home,” the owner told media.
SSP central Muqaddar Haider said officials, “The owner has produced the licence along with other documents, which will be shared with the wildlife department for verification.”
