PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Provincial President Engineer Amir Muqam has said that the federal government is stepping up efforts to resolve the issues pertaining to the blocked Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs).
He said that Pakistanis living abroad would be allowed to get the CNICs and rights of voting in the upcoming general election.
He called on Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday in Islamabad, read an official handout. The statement said the both the leaders discussed the ongoing political situation of the country and took up the issue of blocked CNICs of residents of the province.
It further said that the ministry had relatively unblocked most of the cards, which had been blocked during the past few months.
Nisar also praised the role played by Amir Muqam for strengthening the party position in KP since assuming the position of the provincial president. The federal government would open new passport offices in the far-flung areas of the province in the near future in order to facilitate the people, the statement added.
