SRINAGAR: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Geelani has strongly condemned the use of ‘indiscriminate’ force against students, saying that “situation in educational institutions is turning explosive.”
Condemning the police for manhandling students in Magam, Sopore, Pulwama, Handwara, Duru and Islamabad (Anantnag), Geelani, in a statement, said, “The students are our future and we are keeping a close vigil on the changing development.”
Terming the police action as “Vandalism and absolute barbaric”, he said, “We will never tolerate this and won’t leave innocent students at the mercy of authorities. The direct and unprovoked interference from police is infuriating students.”
He demanded immediate release of detained students and demanded ‘stringent action against the erring police and forces personnel’.
