The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) Monday said around 549 smart or targeted lockdowns were imposed across country wherein 9,093,818 people were restricted in the restricted areas.
According to the NCOC, in Punjab around 184 smart lockdowns were imposed in various districts where around 2 million people were restricted. In Sindh, as many as 68 locations in different districts were under smart lockdown where 4,951,000 people were restricted. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 232 smart lockdowns were imposed in various districts where 534,110 people were restricted. In Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), around 40 locations were imposed under smart lockdown whereas four other districts were under complete lockdown where 1,502,548 people were restricted. In Islamabad Capital Territory (lCT), as many as 10 smart lockdowns were imposed wherein 90,000 people were restricted. In GB, around 16 locations were imposed under smart lockdown whereas 16,160 people were restricted.
It merits mentioning here that the smart lockdowns were imposed in areas with maximum coronavirus patients being reported to contain the risk of coronavirus spread.
Separately, the NCOC said over 6,862 violations of health guidelines were noted during last 24 hours across Pakistan. According to the NCOC, in consequence of the violations, more than 880 markets and shops, six industrial units were sealed and 1229 transporters were fined and sealed. In AJK, 370 violations were recorded and in response nine markets and shops were closed and sealed and 86 transport vehicles were fined. In GB, 178 violations of health guidelines were observed, 93 markets and shops were closed and sealed and 11 transport vehicles were fined. In KP, 3648 violations were observed, 209 markets and shops were closed and sealed and 113 transport vehicles were fined.
In Punjab, a total of 1949 violations were recorded and in consequence, 475 markets and shops were closed and sealed, four industrial units were sealed and 623 transport vehicles were fined. In Balochistan, 684 violations were observed where 71 markets and shops were closed and sealed 287 transport vehicles were fined. In Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), around 33 violations of SOPs and health guidelines were noted and in consequence, 23 shops and markets were closed and sealed, two industries and nine transport vehicles were fined.
