A ban has been imposed by the Chief Minster Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar to hold iftar parties at government expenses in the province.
The ban will be applied on ministers, secretaries and other government authorities. We have to save every single penny and keeping in views the present economic situation we should carefully utilize our resources to prevent corona virus. He said that we will have to strictly follow discipline in the utilization of government resources. We are the custodian of national resources and the circumstances demand that government should provide maximum resources to deal with coronavirus. The policy of “Stay home and remain safe” should strictly be followed during holy of month of Ramazan for the protection of the citizens.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government’s Central Lab of Corona Testing In-charge and molecular biologist Andaleeb Hanif called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at the CM’s office on Saturday.
The Chief Minister lauded the services of Andaleeb Hanif and other staff of the lab in COVID-19 testing. Usman Buzdar also gave a cash prize to Andaleeb Hanif, whereas Provincial Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid gave her commendatory certificate. The Chief Minister announced an additional basic pay for the staff working in Punjab government’s corona testing lab operational round the clock. He said that the staff of the lab will be paid additional salary till the corona lab is functioning. He said that the government appreciates the hard work of staff of testing lab. He further announced that the staff of corona testing lab will get commendatory certificates as well.
Usman Buzdar said it is the difficult time and the government will continue to discharge its obligations wholeheartedly. He said that there is a need to pay attention on research and development work and government will provide all out assistance in this regard. The chief minister was briefed that the central lab has capacity to conduct two thousand tests on daily basis. He further announced so far more than 28 thousands patients have been tested from this lab. Provincial Minister Health Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, Secretary Primary & Secondary Healthcare Muhammad Usman were also present on this occasion.
Also, Newly appointed Punjab Chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at CM’s office today. Usman Buzdar expressed best wishes for Jawad Rafique Malik as a new chief secretary of Punjab. Usman Buzdar said that Punjab government has promoted transparency and merit at every level. Affective measures have been taken to deal with coronavirus pandemic. He said that first and last priority of the government to prevent the spread of corona outbreak. He said that there is a dire need to discharge obligation wholeheartedly for redress the grievances of ailing humanity. Instructions have been issued for indiscriminate crackdown against those who are responsible of artificial price-hike. Administrative officers should continue to take action against hoarders and profiteers. Principle Secretary to CM Punjab Iftikhar Ali was also present on this occasion.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has taken notice of murder of a child after kidnaping in Union Council of ‘Paiga’ in DG khan and sought a report from RPO Dera Ghazi Khan. Chief Minister directed to arrest accused involved in the murder at the earliest. He said that people involved in the heinous act should be immediately arrested and justice should be ensured to the affected family.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar also expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in a traffic accident near M4 motorway Khanewal. Chief Minister extended heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families. Usman Buzdar directed that best medical facilities should be provided to injured people. CM sought a report from administration regarding accident.
Separately, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar became the voice of master’s degree holder unemployed woman. The chief minster took notice of a news item published in a press that a master’s degree holder woman is earning her livelihood by working as sweeper in Vehari and directed the administration of Vehari to arrange a government job for her. The girl got the government job and an appointment letter of office job in Divisional Public School Vehari has been issued to a woman on the directive of Chief Minister. He said that a broom in the hand of such a talented and bright daughter of the nation is only because of the outdated system. The rulers of the past have made oppression with the nation. The PTI government is determined to change this dilapidated system and to evolve such a system where daughters can earn their living with dignity.
