Prime Minister Imran Khan has conveyed best wishes and prayers for the earliest recovery and good health of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
In his letter to Johnson, Imran Khan also underscored the importance of Pakistan and UK working together to overcome the formidable challenges posed by COVID-19 and building a safer world. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan held a telephone conversation with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The prime minister offered condolences to the people and the government of Turkey over the loss of precious lives as a result of COVID-19.
Imran Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s abiding support and solidarity with Turkey, including in Turkey’s efforts to combat the pandemic. The prime minister also conveyed thanks for facilitation of stranded Pakistanis by Turkish authorities in the aftermath of discontinuation of flight operations. The two leaders agreed that Pakistan and Turkey must work together and reinforce each other’s efforts in the fight against COVID-19.
