Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain contacted Maulana Fazlur Rehman and extolled his political wisdom. Shujaat said that Shehbaz Sharif has become Opposition Leader incidentally.
Two big parties, Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz are following footprints of Fazl. Maulana must try to resolve all outstanding issues through dialogue”, Shujaat was quoted as saying. According to sources, Fazl and Elahi both spoke over the phone and discussed the Azadi March standoff. Sources from the JUI-F said that Fazl gave a positive message to Elahi. Elahi is also a member of the government’s negotiating committee which is being led by Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak.
On the other hand, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, while reiterating demand of ouster of the Imran Khan-led federal government stated that Jamiat Ulema Islam Fazl (JUI-F) would continue to stage sit-in after the deadline for the demand of the resignation of premier had expired.
Addressing zealots in Islamabad, the JUI-F supremo rehashed that incumbent government would have to go. Fazl further warned to shut down whole Pakistan if demands were not met. “It was decided in the National Assembly (NA) that a committee would be constituted to probe alleged rigging. Neither was any committee constituted nor any meeting was held in this regard”, apprised Fazl.
