Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has termed the alleged steps taken by the federal government about Karachi as a conspiracy to divide Sindh, for which they have announced to hold massive protests in every district, town and village of the province. Sindh PPP Chief Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said this while addressing a press conference at a local press club on Friday. Sindh is like a mother to us, as well as the mother of Pakistan, Khuhro said. Separating Karachi is just like splitting our head from our body, he said. No person will sit silent now, Khuhro said. He invited all the political and nationalist parties to sit together to protest on Sunday. It is time to remain united to face the attacks being made on Sindh, he said. Attacks had also been made on Sindh previously by constructing the Kalabagh Dam, however it was defeated through a historic Movement for the Restoration of Democracy (MRD)-like movement, Khuhro said. Sindh had been attacked again and this time it is to divide the province in the shape of controlling Karachi, which will be resisted till the last breath, he said. Pakistan’s prime minister wants to become Pakistan’s ‘Gorbachev’ who intends to divide Sindh by conspiring to make a separate committee for Karachi, Khuhro said.
