Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), on Sunday, announced to appoint well-qualified persons as part-time tutors to enhance the quality of Open-Distance Learning (ODL) system. It has launched a fresh process of tutors’ registration. At present, there are around 40, 000 tutors available countrywide for one six-month semester. AIOU has, however, kicked off an e-registration process for the purpose. It would be an opportunity for motivated and aspirant applicants to become a part of the University’s teaching process for reasonable remuneration. Tutors already working for AIOU would also be required to apply for e-registration through the notified process. Following the directive of AIOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Ziaul Qayyum, the qualification and experience prescribed and notified for the tutors would be strictly complied with. According to Regional Services Director Inamullah Sheikh, through its digital transformation program, AIOU had created an online portal for the e-registration of its part-time tutors.
