A road mishap, on Tuesday, killed at least five people near Kashmore, Kandhkot. Ten others were wounded as the gas cylinder of a passenger van exploded. According to details, the explosion claimed the lives of two women and two children, who died on the spot while several others sustained burn injuries. After receiving information, the rescue teams rushed to the spot.
Dead bodies and the injured were moved to the nearby medical facility. Out of the five deceased, three are reportedly members of the same family. Earlier on January 5, at least 14 children suffered burn wounds when a school van caught fire in Orangi Town.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical attention while those with severe burns were moved to the Civil Hospital’s burns ward, rescue officials noted.
According to police officials, a short circuit had caused the fire yet the compressed natural gas (CNG) cylinder installed in the vehicle had remained intact.
