Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Dr Asad Majeed Khan, on Monday, offered his government’s help to the US in solving the Afghan issue. He said this during a ceremony held in Washington, further adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Trump stood on the same page when it came to peace and regional stability.
He called the US an ally of Pakistan while noting that the two countries had never enjoyed an easy relationship.
It may be pertinent to mention here that US President, Donald Trump, had said, on Friday, that the bilateral relations between the US and Pakistan had become much better in a short span of time in his address to an event held at the White House with reference to trade negotiations with China. He had even hinted at meeting with the Pakistani administration in the future. In the meantime, several US envoys have categorically admitted the importance of having Pakistan as an ally during the Afghan peace talks.
