Former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif’s personal physician, Dr Adnan, on Friday, asserted that Sharif had never said that he would not undergo angiography.
During his conversation with reporters outside Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, he blamed the government for delaying the medical procedure and that it would be responsible if anything were to happen to the former premier.
He further added that as of now, the government had not asked his patient about angiography.
On Thursday, Dr Adnan had claimed that the government had not yet decided whether to treat the erstwhile prime minister in Pakistan or send him abroad. He had, however, stressed upon the need for intensive care because one part of his patient’s heart was not receiving adequate blood supply.
He also revealed that the medical board would deliberate upon whether to shift Sharif to another hospital while pointing out that the medical board was responsible for his diagnosis and the government for decisions about the treatment.
Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif, had raised reservations over the state of medical treatment available to elder Sharif on February 19.
Sharif was earlier transferred from the Kot Lakhpat to Jinnah Hospital on the recommendation from the medical board.
