The three-day Millennial Olympiad 2019 started here in the federal capital on Friday to provide an opportunity to the young students to prove their mettle in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
Millennium Flagship Campus I-9/3 Islamabad hosted the mega sports event, attended by 131 official and 60 private teams from several prestigious schools.
The opening ceremony was presided over by former test cricketer Ijaz Ahmed. In her opening remarks, Principal Muneeze Muzaffar said the objective of the event is to inspire youth to help shape a world based on justice, solidarity, liberty, dignity, harmony and prosperity for all. She said the Olympiad is a platform which allows young Millennials to prove their mettle in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
Ijaz Ahmed appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged the youth to become the agents of change through engagement in student initiatives on national and international forums.
Beaconhouse, The City School, Froebel’s, Westminster, Headstart, OGS, ICAS, TSS, Iqra School and a large number of other institutions participated in the event. Speaking on the occasion, the Olympiad president explained the objectives of the three-day event and also applauded his team, executive council and host team for organizing the event in a befitting manner.
