Several eminent professors and scholars on Saturday offered condolence to a renowned scholar, economist Professor Dr Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar over the demise of his sister Naseem Akhtar in the University of Sindh’s society in Jamshoro.
Late Naseem Akhtar was paternal aunt of a renowned economist Prof Dr Mohammad Ali Pasha.
The deceased died in the Aga Khan University Hospital following a prolonged illness in papillary thyroid cancer.
She was buried at a graveyard in Jamshoro after her funeral prayers were offered by her relatives, professors, scholars, and influential political and social personalities.
Meanwhile, Sindh Agriculture University (Tando Jam) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Mujeeb-udin Sehrai, University of Sindh (SU Jamshoro) VC Prof Dr Fateh Mohammad Burfat, former acting SU VC Mohammad Saddiq Kalhoro, former KDA chief engineer Abdul Shakoor Pathan, Justice Farooq Ahmed, journalists, social activists, professors, doctors and scholars offered condolence to Dr Panhwar.
