ABOTTABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and National Assembly member Dr Azhar Jadoon was slapped during a ‘Sehat Insaf Card’ distribution ceremony on Thursday.
The health card distribution ceremony was held in Jalal Baba auditorium with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health minister Shehram Tarakai as chief guest.
During the ceremony, a young participant, Zain from Mansehra, went on stage and started slapping Jadoon. The Nawan Shehr tehsil council member and his supporters also rushed on stage and retaliated by beating the young man.
Police rescued Zain from the mob and shifted him to Cantt police station.
When asked about his actions Zain said that Jadoon had slapped Lt Gen (r) Ayyaz Rana during the funeral prayers of those killed in Nawan Shehr, for which he had taken revenge.
“I can sacrifice my life for the dignity of army,” he added. He said, “People are being fooled by the Sehat cards matter. These cards are being distributed among favourites.”
According to Cantt police, an FIR had been lodged against Zain and he would be presented in court on Friday.
