Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Monday that there is a clear division within Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) over the “anti-state” statements from the party leadership.
The prime minister said this while chairing a meeting of government spokespersons held in Islamabad.
The meeting discussed the overall political, economic situation of the country, while the matter of PML-N leader and former NA speaker Ayaz Sadiq also came under discussion.
A private news channel quoted its sources as saying that PM Khan during the meeting directed party spokespersons to raise Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s statement against national security on a public level.
“Nation loves Pakistan armed forces. There is a clear division within PML-N over anti-state activities,” said PM Imran, adding that opposition parties playing tactics to get NRO.
“Oppositions only aim is to seek National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) and their narrative is against national interests of Pakistan,” PM Imran Khan told the meeting.
PM further directed to effectively highlight govt’s narrative and measures and speed up public welfare projects.
It is pertinent to mention here that several PML-N MPAs in Punjab Assembly had condemned the narrative of the political party’s supremo and other senior party leaders for targeting national institutions.
Also, Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to host a dinner for coalition partners on November 5. Prime Minister Imran Khan has invited coalition partners to a dinner on Thursday at his official residence to address reservations of political allies.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Pakistan Muslim League (Q), Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and other political allies have been invited to the dinner.
According to sources, PM Imran Khan will discuss the overall political situation of the country and other important matters with the leadership of coalition parties.
Back in June this year, Prime Minister Imran Khan had hosted dinner for coalition partners to address reservations of political allies with regard to the budget.
At the dinner, the premier tried to allay the concerns and reservations of the MNAs of his party as well the coalition partners over the non-provision of the development funds.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz on Monday said the root cause of the country’s economic problems was the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and the talk of remedy from them was ridiculous.
In a tweet he said if Shahid Khaqan Abbasi loses the election from his ancestral constituency, then it’s rigging, but if he wins from Lahore then it is transparent election. He said the nation was fed up with his duplicity.
On the other hand, the PML-N lawmakers and leaders are disgruntled with the party policies like never before, as one more MPA – Azhar Abbas Chandia – met with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and expressed displeasure over the PML-N’s party line against state institutions.
The development came after days PML-N Balochistan President Abdul Qadir Baloch decided to resign from the party. He made the decision after the PML-N decided not to invite former Balochistan chief minister Sanaullah Zehri in a Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) power show in Quetta.
Chandia briefed Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on the problems of his constituency and expressed confidence in Usman Buzdar’s policies. Chandia was elected on PP-269 (Muzaffargarh-II) constituency in 2018 general elections.
Speaking on the occasion, Usman Buzdar said for the first time, resources have been diverted to Muzaffargarh and other cities of South Punjab.
The CM emphasised that institutions are the pride of the nation and any attempt to traduce them is, in fact, a conspiracy of weakening the country. “Every such effort will be foiled with the support of the people,” the CM warned. It is regrettable the opposition parties are bent upon weakening the democracy as their conduct is a clear negation of national interest. The PTI government will continue to support the institutions, the CM added. He stressed the government is fully engaged in serving the masses and genuine problems faced by the parliamentarians will be solved on a priority basis. No one will be allowed to interrupt the development process; he said and added the past governments deprived the small districts of development. The resources are provided for the development of Muzaffargarh and other districts of southern Punjab for the first time, he held.
It is pertinent to note earlier five PML-N MPAs met with Punjab’s chief minister, included Mian Jaleel Ahmad Sharqpuri, Ch Ashraf Ali Ansari, Muhammad Ghiasuddin, Nishat Ahmad Khan Daha, and Muhammad Faisal Khan Niazi. The MPAs briefed the chief minister of the problems and pending development schemes in their constituencies while the CM assured them of resolving the issues.
